Examples of a series made using "formative updrawing" a technique invented by the artist, to alter the surface of cast glass
Updrawing is a industrial method used to create window glass before the invention of float glass. In the technique, window panes are drawn from a vast cast pool of hot glass by a simple metal mold sticked to the glass.
In Arabesque series, the mold that updraws glass is altered to variable geometrical shapes. When updrawn, glass alters the cross sections of these rigid, mathematical forms, creating soft, malleable patterns.
